Andrew joined Coventry Law School in January 2020, delivering modules on human rights, commercial law and jurisprudence at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He currently runs the undergraduate International Criminal Law module and the International Law: Crisis and Security module on the LLM Law course.

Andrew’s journey into law began at the age of 16, and he has since received an LL.B(Hons) in Law from the University of Reading in 2010, an LLM in International Law, Specialising in International Criminal Law and International Human Rights Law, from Bangor University in 2014, and a PhD in international Law in 2019.

After living in the People’s Republic of China for several years, he completed his PhD at the China University of Political Science and Law in Beijing. His dissertation was a comprehensive examination of the law on the use of force and its capacity to regulate confict in the modern world, considering the numerous challenges that the evolution of the nature of warfare presents to the existing legal paradigm.

His research continues to examine issues related to armed conflict, with his general research interests falling within international human rights law, international humanitarian law and international criminal law.
